Editorial Reviews
Library Journal
"This book is an introduction to all the steps required to start a small business. It takes readers from the business formation, e.g., choosing a form of business and name, to writing a business plan, financing the endeavor, locating and licensing the business, and paying taxes. Warda, an attorney with business expertise, covers laws applicable to the formation of contracts, labor and employment, safety and health at work, and advertising. He explains the various kinds of insurance that may be necessary and advises readers on using the Internet in their business. There are a glossary and sample forms that new entrepreneurs may find helpful, such as an authorization for release of employment information and an education verification form. Simply written, this book is a good starter resource for those considering a business venture. It covers some of the same territory as Fred Steingolds Legal Guide for Starting and Running a Small Business, which has the added benefit of chapters on franchises, customer relations, and resolving legal disputes. For public business self-help collections.- Joan Pedzich, Harris Beach PLLC, Rochester, NY"
